The OSCE has a comprehensive approach to security that encompasses politico-military, economic and environmental, and human aspects. It therefore addresses a wide range of security-related concerns, including arms control, confidence- and security-building measures, human rights, national minorities, democratization, policing strategies, counter-terrorism and economic and environmental activities.

HCNM is tasked with early warning and early action in relation to tensions in and between participating States that may develop into conflicts. The High Commissioner is assisted in the conflict prevention mandate by political and legal advisers as well as project officers and assistants.

Human Rights Officer

General Minimum Requirements    
     
   

The general minimum requirements for working with the OSCE are:

 

  • Excellent physical condition
  • Possession of a valid automobile driving license and ability to drive using manual transmission
  • Ability to cope with physical hardship and willingness to work extra hours and in an environment with limited infrastructure

 

Project Officer

Please note that this is an extra-budgetary position. The initial contract will be for the duration of one year, with the possibility of extension until January 2021 subject to budget availability.

 

National Governance Officer

The vacancy is open only for persons with the citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia.

The successful candidate will receive a one-year fixed-term Letter of Appointment, which will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period. The successful candidate will work in the OSCE Mission to Serbia’s Democratic Governance Section within the Democratization Department.
