Programme Assistant (G5)

Background:

The incumbent is assigned to the Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan (PCUz) Politico Military Dimension (PMD) to provide secretarial, administrative and programmatic assistance to the dimension. The Unit consists of five staff: the incumbent and one other Programme Assistant G5, Senior Programme Assistant, G6 and two National Project Officers.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of PMD National Project Officers, the incumbent performs the following duties:

Associate Project Officer

The OSCE has a comprehensive approach to security that encompasses politico-military, economic and environmental, and human aspects. It therefore addresses a wide range of security-related concerns, including arms control, confidence- and security-building measures, human rights, national minorities, democratization, policing strategies, counter-terrorism and economic and environmental activities.

Human Resources Assistant

Background

This is a fixed-term post financed from the Unified Budget. The initial contract duration is one year with 6 months’ probation period.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Officer, the incumbent carries out the following duties:

 

1. Personnel administration

• Provides interpretation of the OSCE Staff Regulations and Rules and other relevant instructions and procedures to local and international mission members (MMs);

General Minimum Requirements    
     
   

The general minimum requirements for working with the OSCE are:

  • Excellent physical condition
  • Possession of a valid automobile driving license and ability to drive using manual transmission
  • Ability to cope with physical hardship and willingness to work extra hours and in an environment with limited infrastructure

 

Economic Adviser

Furthermore, this level of responsibility requires the following:

 

Education:

Second-level university degree in a relevant field

 

Experience:

Minimum of six years of relevant professional experience

National Chief of ICT Services

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Fund Administration, the National Chief of ICT Services directs the planning and implementation of the Mission ICT systems in support of Mission operations in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and Mission business development. The incumbent advises the CFA on the effective and strategic use of ICT and related cost reduction opportunities and develops and disseminates best practices.
