Within its mandate to protect and promote the rights of vulnerable communities, the Mission monitors and reports on the situation of Kosovo Roma, Kosovo Ashkali and Kosovo Egyptian communities. In 2017, the Mission will issue a Publication depicting the current situation of the three communities, and assessing the level of their inclusion in Kosovo society.

In recent years, the Department for Security and Public Safety (DSPS) of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo (OMiK) has been proactively participating in the development of security and public safety sector initiatives in Kosovo.
