The vacancy is open only for persons with the citizenship of the Republic of Serbia.
The successful candidate will receive a one-year fixed-term Letter of Appointment, which will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period, and which will be renewable annually,subject to satisfactory performance and continuing need for the post. The incumbent will work in the Office of the Head of Mission.

Tasks and Responsibilities |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Policy and Planning Officer and overall guidance of the Head of Mission, the incumbent provides translation/interpretation services and administrative and secretarial assistance to the Head of Mission. Specifically, the Translator/Interpreter Assistant is responsible for:
- Translation:
- translating documents, such as reports, summaries, news articles, interviews, official correspondence, speeches, legal and policy texts and other printed material for the Mission’s leadership and other clients across the Mission, from English to Serbian and vice-versa;
- proof-reading and editing written translations produced by other translators, including reports, correspondence and other material;
- Interpretation: providing consecutive interpretation for the Head of Mission (HoM) and Deputy Head of Mission (DHoM) during meetings, press conferences, and media interviews.
- Administrative assistance: performing administrative office tasks and clerical duties in support of the Office of the Head of Mission, including scheduling appointments, maintaining agendas, filing, answering queries, making travel, accommodation and other logistical arrangements and similar office tasks, raising Purchase Requisitions (PR) in the ERP system for the required goods and services.
- Performing other duties as required.

Necessary Qualifications |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Citizenship of the Republic of Serbia;
- Completed secondary education supplemented by formal studies or certification in the English language;
- Minimum 4 years of working experience in translation and interpretation, preferably in an international environment;
- Knowledge of office work and administrative procedures;
- Experience in record-keeping and processing of information;
- Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and in Serbian;
- Ability and willingness to work with people of different nationalities, cultural and religious backgrounds and diverse political views while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
- Holding a valid driving licence.

Remuneration Package |

The incumbent will receive a one-year fixed-term Letter of Appointment, which will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period, and which will be renewable annually, subject to satisfactory performance and the continuing need for the post.
Appointments are normally made at Step 1 of the applicable salary scales.
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is EUR 1,504.92. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
The OSCE retains the discretion to re-advertise the vacancy, cancel the recruitment, offer an appointment at a lower grade or offer an appointment with a modified job description or for a different duration.
