This vacancy is open only for persons with the citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia.
The OSCE Mission to Serbia is looking for a Temporary Programme Assistant, who will be based in Novi Pazar and will support adaptation of an intercultural quiz game, as part of a project focused on promoting intercultural dialogue and youth participation in civic initiatives. The Programme Assistant will support project co-ordination, administration, logistics and implementation, while also providing insight into local needs and opportunities to implementing the quiz game and affiliated community oriented activities. Activities will be implemented in Novi Pazar/southwest Serbia and Novi Sad/Vojvodina, with potential to engage in other parts of Serbia.

Tasks and Responsibilities |

|
|
|
|
Under the supervision of the Project Manager in Novi Pazar, the temporary Programme Assistant will perform the following duties:
- Assisting in the development of a plan for a version 2.0 of an intercultural online game developed in mid-2018;
- Meeting with young people in Novi Pazar to collect their feedback on version 1.0 and ideas for version 2.0;
- Liaising with the game developer (programmer) regarding the design specifications and inputs for version 2.0;
- Liaising with relevant partners to develop additional intercultural questions, focused on communities in southwest Serbia, Vojvodina and other parts of Serbia;
- Implementing a set of activities contributing to content development and use of the intercultural game in Novi Pazar (quiz nights, scavenger hunts, etc.) and sharing ideas with stakeholders in other parts of Serbia for their own potential (independent) implementation;
- Co-ordinating beta testing of version 2.0;
- Maintaining communication with Mission team in Novi Pazar;
- Travel in Serbia as required, and as organised in consultation with Mission;
- Performing other duties as required.

Necessary Qualifications |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia;
- Completed secondary education;
- Recent experience in working with young people on education and activism projects;
- Familiarity with the concepts of preventing and countering violent extremism and the role of intercultural activities in promoting tolerance and understanding in Serbia;
- Familiarity with local stakeholders in southwest Serbia;
- Previous experience working with international organisations desirable;
- Professional fluency in English and the local language;
- Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages and social media platforms;
- Ability and willingness to work with people of different nationalities, cultural and religious backgrounds and diverse political views while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.

Remuneration Package |

The selected candidate:
- will receive a Letter of Appointment for Daily Staff, renewable monthly, subject to satisfactory performance and continuing need for this function, but not later than 31 March 2019;
- will be paid by the hour worked at the rate of 6.08 EUR per hour, which corresponds to grade G4, Step 1;
- will be responsible for arranging his/her own health insurance, as the OSCE shall not contribute to any health insurance scheme, and will be required to submit a proof of possession of a health insurance valid in Serbia;
- will be responsible for his/her own pension insurance, as the OSCE shall not contribute to any pension insurance scheme;
- will participate in the OSCE accident and life insurance scheme for which the OSCE shall pay the corresponding premium.
