Background    
     
   

This vacancy is open for the applicants with the citizenship of an OSCE participating State.

The OSCE Mission to Serbia is looking for an international expert to deliver a course on Speech Writing Skills in English for mission members.

The needs assessment conducted by the Mission identified the need for mission members to develop speech writing skills, including identifying key messages in an inspirational manner and understanding what is important for the target audience.

The course will be organized for mission members who are engaged in preparing speeches and talking points for senior management. The main objective of the course is to develop a better awareness for the planning and drafting process of speech writing, as well as to build on the existing writing skills and how to keep the speech interesting.

     
Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

Under the supervision and in consultation with the National Human Resources Officer, the expert will be responsible for:

  1. Liaising with the Human Resources Section to define the learning outcomes;
  2. Reviewing the participants’ writing samples, e.g. briefing documents prepared for visiting high-ranking officials and speakers or speeches prepared for local and regional events;
  3. Designing and updating course materials (manuals, activities, Power Point Presentation) based upon requirements of the Human Resources Section;
  4. Preparing and proposing tailor-made agenda for the course;
  5. Designing and delivering a two-day course on Speech/Statement Writing in English;
  6. Reviewing and providing feedback to participants on writing produced during the course;
  7. Delivering a certificate to all successful candidates.

The training course will be delivered on the Mission’s premises in Belgrade in January 2020.

     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Citizenship of an OSCE participating State;
  • University degree or certification in communication/linguistics/creative writing or another relevant field;
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in the field of learning and development in international organizations;
  • Professional fluency in the English language, both oral and written;
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills;
  • Proven ability to use interactive techniques and modern learning approaches;
  • Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages;
  • Ability and willingness to work with people of different cultural, national and religious backgrounds;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.

Remuneration Package    
     
   

The expert will be employed on a Special Service Agreement covering a total period of 4 days, to include preparation and delivery of training, and will be paid a total amount not exceeding 1,200 EUR, commensurate to individual qualifications and experience.

In addition, the OSCE Mission to Serbia will cover travel and accommodation costs associated with this consultancy.
