The vacancy is open only for persons with the citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia.
The successful candidate will receive a one-year fixed-term Letter of Appointment, which will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period. The incumbent will work in the OSCE Mission to Serbia’s Security Co-operation Department.

Tasks and Responsibilities |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Under the supervision of the Head of the Security Co-operation Department, the Senior Programme Assistant:
- Assists the head of department in policy formulation and in programme planning, management, monitoring and evaluation, and follows up on the implementation of the decisions made by the head of department;
- Conducts research on legislation, policies and practices in connection with security sector and police affairs, e.g. in the fields of community policing, accountability, and fight against organized and financial crime and corruption, and prepares briefings, reports, summaries, talking points and background material;
- Assists the head of department in the management of specific inter-section projects;
- As the head of department’s focal point for external partners, maintains regular contact with governmental, international and non-governmental partners in the field of security co-operation;
- Reviews, edits and clears official correspondence for the head of department’s signature;
- Translates and/or proofreads complex documentation and provides consecutive translation at meetings and other events;
- Provides administrative assistance to the head of department, including submitting and processing purchase requests; maintaining the calendar of events; scheduling appointments and carrying out practical organization of programme activities; maintaining, logging, filing and updating records; establishing and maintaining electronic and physical filing systems;
- Performs other duties as required.

Necessary Qualifications |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia;
- Secondary education supplemented by studies in the field of security studies, social/political sciences or public administration;
Minimum 6 years of working experience in project management in security sector reform, public administration, human rights, democratization and/or political affairs;
- Prior working experience with an international organization;
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and practices;
- Good knowledge of the security sector landscape and the societal environment in Serbia would be an asset;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Serbian;
- Computer literacy with practical experience in Microsoft applications and electronic resource management applications (e.g. Oracle or similar);
- Ability and willingness to work with people of different nationalities, cultural and religious backgrounds and diverse political views while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.

Remuneration Package |

|
The incumbent will receive a one-year fixed-term Letter of Appointment, which will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period, and which will be renewable annually, subject to satisfactory performance and continuing need for the post.
Appointments are normally made at Step 1 of the applicable salary scales.
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is approx. EUR 1,730.83. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
