The vacancy is open only for persons with the citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia.
The selected candidate will receive a short-term Letter of Appointment for a period of 6 months, which may be extended for a further and final 6-month period. The incumbent will work in the Organized Crime Section of the Security Co-operation Department.

Tasks and Responsibilities |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Under the supervision of the Senior Organised Crime Adviser, the temporary Senior Programme Assistant will be responsible for:
- Providing assistance in programme implementation:
- Conducting research on policies and practices in connection with the police reform;
- Providing assistance in project planning and evaluation (proposing indicators, means of verification and measures of outcome);
- Briefing on developments in the field of police reform and related societal environment, and preparing reports, briefing papers, notes to file, summaries, speaking notes, talking points, background material and working papers;
- Contributing to the planning, implementation and management of specific projects and activities related to the fight against organized crime;
- Drafting and/or editing correspondence on the subject matter;
- Maintaining co-operation with external partners:
- Communicating with governmental agencies, such as the Ministry of Interior, police, local self-government and NGOs, to ensure exchange of information and to provide added value to planning, improving and implementing joint activities;
- Meeting with implementing partners to ensure that the activities are implemented and reports and other documents are submitted in accordance with the OSCE rules;
- Organizing and participating at meetings/conferences with domestic and international counterparts working on police reform, in order to collect information, facilitate coordination and arrange activities;
- Providing administrative assistance to the Organized Crime Section:
- Participating in the planning and administration of the projects funded from the Unified Budget and extra-budgetary resources;
- Raising Purchase Requisitions in Oracle for the required goods and services;
- Carrying out a range of administrative tasks as they relate to the planning and implementation of activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops, study tours and other events (booking air tickets, rooms, premises, procurement and payment of goods and services, terms of reference for consultants/agencies/partners, transport and logistics requirements for events, travel cost reimbursement/payment etc.);
- Providing translation and interpretation when required;
- Preparing, editing and filing minutes from meetings;
- Performing other duties as required.

Necessary Qualifications |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia;
- Completed secondary education, supplemented by post-secondary education/training in social studies, public administration or project management;
- Minimum six years of relevant working experience in the field of public administration, good governance or security sector reform;
- Knowledge of project management (planning, implementation, reporting and evaluation);
- Ability to conduct research and collect information from a variety of sources;
- Strong drafting and analytical skills and ability to produce reports within tight time limits;
- Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Serbian;
- Ability and willingness to work with people of different nationalities, cultural and religious backgrounds and diverse political views while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.

Remuneration Package |

|
|
The selected candidate will receive a short-term Letter of Appointment for a period of 6 months, which may be extended for a further and final 6-month period.
Appointments are made at Step 1 of the applicable salary scale.
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is EUR 1,730.83. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme.
