The vacancy is open only for persons with the citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia.
This is an extra-budgetary position subject to the availability of funds. The incumbent will receive a Fixed-term Letter of Appointment in the duration of 1 (one) year, which will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period. A further extension is subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funds.
The incumbent will work within the project “Support to designing and implementing awareness raising campaigns on SALW control in Serbia” (ExB #2400789), which is placed within the Organized Crime Unit of Security Co-operation Department.

Tasks and Responsibilities |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Under the supervision of Organized Crime Adviser, the incumbent is responsible for providing programmatic and administrative support in the implementation of the Project aimed at strengthening the capacities of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia to conduct awareness raising campaigns on the impact of uncontrolled proliferation of small arms and light weapons (SALW). Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for:
- Preparing working documents and background material pertaining to the issues addressed through Project activities, namely small arms and light weapons (SALW), and drafting reports, project inputs, briefing papers on project implementation and other requests;
- Assisting in the development of project activities and liaising with the counterparts, and preparing relevant documents such as the terms of reference for the employment of consultants and implementing partners, as well as the Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with key partners;
- Organizing logistical requirements for Project events, i.e. preparing agendas, putting in place ICT and other equipment and stationery, organizing travel arrangements and transport requirements, and maintaining communication with all event participants and the relevant Fund Administration staff;
- Monitoring budget expenditure, the implementation of activities and submission of reports by implementing partners and consultants, and proposing budgetary and/or expenditure adjustments when necessary;
- Liaising with international, regional and national governmental and non-governmental institutions with the purpose of co-ordinating activities in the area of SALW control, and assisting in gathering information necessary for the development of outreach events and the assessment of their impact;
- Performing other duties as required.

Necessary Qualifications |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia;
- Secondary education supplemented by formal training or studies in social/political studies or humanities;
- Minimum four (4) years of working experience in the field of administration;
- Experience in project planning, implementation and reporting;
- Ability to conduct research and collect information from a variety of sources;
- Some experience in the field of security sector reform, political affairs or democratization would be considered an asset;
- Some knowledge of key issues related to the impact of uncontrolled proliferation and possession of small arms and light weapons in Serbia would be considered an asset;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Serbian;
- Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft applications;
- Ability and willingness to work with people of different nationalities, cultural and religious backgrounds and diverse political views while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.

Remuneration Package |

The incumbent will receive a Fixed-term Letter of Appointment in the duration of 1 (one) year, which will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period. A further extension is subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funds.
Appointments are normally made at Step 1 of the applicable salary scales.
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is approx. EUR 1,504.92. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
