This vacancy is open only for the applicants with the citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia.
The OSCE Mission to Serbia has produced a comprehensive multi-annual year report on analysis of war crimes trial proceedings in Serbia monitored in the period 2015-2019. The report represents an in-depth analysis of relevant legal documents (i.e. indictments, orders, rulings, judgements etc.) in domestic war crimes cases in Serbia in the mentioned period and addresses a follow-up on recommendations from the Mission’s multi-annual report “War Crimes Proceedings in Serbia (2003-2014)”. After the report is translated from English into Serbian, legal proofreading and editing of the translation is required by the Mission.
To this end, the OSCE Mission to Serbia’s Rule of Law and Human Rights Department requires the services of an expert to assist the OSCE War Crimes Trial Monitoring Team in legal editing and proofreading of the translation, including the technical-legal review, of the multi-annual report on war crimes proceedings in Serbia (2015-2019) entitled – an analysis of the OSCE Mission to Serbia’s monitoring results.

Tasks and Responsibilities |

|
Under the supervision of National Legal Officer, the consultant will be required to perform the following task:
- Technical-legal review, proofreading and editing of the Serbian translation of the report on war crimes proceedings in Serbia (2015-2019) – an analysis of the OSCE Mission to Serbia’s monitoring results.
The report itself addresses the following topics: domestic war crimes prosecution and adjudication, international and regional cooperation, trial management, application of international humanitarian law, sentencing practices, etc.
The work should be completed by 9 November 2020.
The consultant will fork from home or his/her office.

Necessary Qualifications |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia;
- Secondary education, supplemented by formal studies or training in languages, administration or project management;
- Minimum 4 years of experience in administration of projects or project planning, implementation, reporting and evaluation;
- Experience in analytical, problem-solving and/or organisational activities;
- Ability to conduct research and collect information from a variety of sources;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Serbian;
- Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people from different national and cultural backgrounds, whilst maintaining impartiality and objectivity.

Remuneration Package |

The expert will be employed on a Special Service Agreement from approx. from 29 October 2020 to 9 November 2020, and will be paid a rate of RSD 780 per page edited/proofread. It is expected that the translation will have approximately 120 pages. The payment will be effected upon successful completion of all tasks. |
