Background    
     
   

The vacancy is open only for persons with citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia.

This is an extra-budgetary position subject to the availability of funds. The incumbent will receive a four-month short-term Letter of Appointment, which will not carry any expectation of extension or conversion to another type of employment.

Interviews and tests are tentatively planned for mid-March 2020.

     
Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

The post is located in the Mission to Serbia’s Fund Administration Unit (FAU) and funded from the extra-budgetary (ExB) project No. 2400789 (“Support to designing and implementing awareness raising campaigns on SALW control in Serbia”). The incumbent will be assigned to the Finance Section and will provide support in relation to the management of documents of a financial nature and will provide support in a range of other administrative tasks. Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for:

  1. Assisting in reviewing invoices for goods and services, ensuring completeness of documentation and validity of charges;
  2. Assisting in reviewing financial reports submitted by implementing partners with whom  the Mission has signed agreements, conducting site visits and updating checklists;
  3. Assisting in clearing and updating travel related documents;
  4. Administering supplier/contractor data, i.e. entering information on suppliers/contractors in Oracle/IRMA, including bank details
  5. Assisting in the Finance Section’s project records and archive management process;
  6. Reviewing extra-budgetary project proposals for directly budgeted administrative costs (overheads);
  7. Performing other duties as required.
     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia;
  • Completed secondary education supplemented by training in economics or administration;
  • Minimum three (3) years of working experience in finance, budget or general administration;
  • Established knowledge of accountancy procedures;
  • Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Serbian.

  • Ability and willingness to work with people of different nationalities, cultural and religious backgrounds and diverse political views while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.

Remuneration Package    
     
   

The successful candidate will receive a short-term Letter of Appointment for a period of four months, which will not carry any expectation of extension or conversion to another type of employment.

Appointments are made at Step 1 of the applicable salary scales.

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is EUR 1,308.33. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance and the OSCE Provident Fund.
