Vacancy
Background | ||
This vacancy is open for the applicants with the citizenship of an OSCE participating State, excluding the Republic of Serbia. The OSCE Mission to Serbia is looking for an international expert to design and deliver two 2-day skill-based training which uses educational drama as a tool. The training should be tailor-made for civic education teachers who work with 7-15 year old children, and should be suitable for certification by the Ministry of Education, which will be ensured through consultations with representatives of the Institute for Improvement of Education. The Mission runs and manages a number of Unified Budget (UB) and extra-budgetary (ExB) projects, i.e. projects funded by individual donors. All of these projects are implemented by mission members. As envisaged by the Mission’s project "Implementation of the improved curriculum for the Civic Education programme in schools, Sub-activity 2.2.2", over the past two years, the Mission has engaged resources to assist the Serbian Ministry of Education and Institute for Improvement of Education in comprehensive reform of the curricula for civic education. After the adoption of the reformed curricula and drafting of the Manuals for teachers, the Mission decided to support training for teachers of civic education. Two types of training are envisaged, one dealing with the substance of civic education, providing teachers with knowledge of the basic concepts, and another aiming at providing teachers with skills to deliver successfully these programmes. For the purpose of delivering the skill-based training, the Mission will engage one international expert who has expertise in the training of teachers, with particular focus on using drama as instrument for teaching. The expert will train the teachers in a range of educational drama methods (i.e. process drama, forum theatre, improvisation) which they will be able to use in the classroom to assist their delivery of the new curricula.
