Violence against women in Kyrgyzstan is widespread and takes many forms, including domestic violence, bride kidnapping, trafficking, early marriages and physical abuse. The problem of domestic violence reached its peak during the state of emergency in 2020 that required self-isolation. In Kyrgyzstan during the COVID-19 quarantine, the number of cases of domestic violence increased by 65%, when compared to the same period in 2019.

Background

The Department for Security and Public Safety (DSPS) of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo (Mission) continues to proactively participate and support the development of the security and public safety sector in Kosovo. In this regards, the Police Development and Monitoring Section (PDMS) to ensure the project result is fully achieved, will focus on human resources management capacities and e-learning within KP.
