Background    
     
   

The vacancy is open only for persons with the citizenship of the Republic of Serbia.

The incumbent will receive a one-year fixed-term Letter of Appointment, which will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period, and which will be renewable annually, subject to satisfactory performance. The incumbent will work in the Economic Crime and Anti-corruption Section of the Rule of Law and Human Rights Department.

     
Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

The incumbent is responsible for anti-corruption and economic crime related capacity-building activities for prosecutors and investigators, as well as providing advice to legislative drafting on laws and bylaws related to anti-corruption and economic crime. Specifically, the incumbent performs the following duties:

  1. Developing capacity-building plans on topics dealing with detecting, investigating, prosecuting and trying corruption and economic crime cases;
  2. Participating in working groups on drafting laws and bylaws pertaining to anti-corruption and economic crime;
  3. Drafting reports for the Senior Anti-corruption Adviser, Head of Department, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Mission on relevant criminal justice issues pertaining to anti-corruption and economic crime;
  4. Monitoring the implementation of Serbia’s action plans for the implementation of the National Anti-corruption Strategy and providing oral and written updates to the Senior Anti-corruption Adviser, Head of Department and senior management;
  5. Performing other duties as required.
     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia;
  • First-level university degree in Law;
  • Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in a relevant field, such as legal reform, anti-corruption or economic crime;
  • Knowledge of anti-corruption and economic crime issues;
  • Good understanding of Serbia’s judicial and legal system;
  • Experience in designing capacity-building activities;
  • Excellent report drafting skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Serbian;
  • Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages;
  • Ability and willingness to work with people of different nationalities, cultural and religious backgrounds and diverse political views while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • Possession of a valid driving licence.

Remuneration Package    
     
   

The incumbent will receive a one-year fixed-term Letter of Appointment, which will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period, and which will be renewable annually, subject to satisfactory performance.

Appointments are normally made at Step 1 of the applicable salary scale.

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is EUR 2,048.67. Social benefits will include participation in the OSCE medical insurance scheme and Provident Fund
