Vacancy
The OSCE Presence in Albania (hereinafter ‘the Presence’) in cooperation with the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Arts in Tirana are organizing a “Visual Arts Contest”, focusing on “Trafficking of Human Beings” to take place in spring 2020. Students from the faculty will be encouraged to develop – with the guidance of curators from the Faculty – art works addressing this topic. Selected artworks will be exhibited at the Fine Arts Gallery (Fakulteti i Arteve të Bukura – FAB) in Tirana during the opening exhibition and for two weeks following the opening. The two best works will each receive a prize. A catalogue will be printed featuring the compilation of student submissions. The contest aims at encouraging students to reflect and penetrate intellectually and with artistic means on the theme of “Trafficking of Human Beings”. This activity should be considered as a part of a broader preventive effort by OSCE to tackle the phenomenon by stimulating debate about this challenge. The means of visual art can provide a contribution to the government efforts and priorities by presenting a student’s approach to raise public awareness and inspire institutional reaction against Trafficking of Human Beings in Albania. The winning Art works produced through this contest can also provide effective imagery related to Trafficking of Human Beings that the Presence will be able to use in relevant future campaigns, online or otherwise.
