Background
     
   

Trainer will be assigned to conduct the training course for the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek (POiB) mission members wishing to enhance their drafting skills in the English language. The trainer will be contracted as a consultant for three months.

The trainer will provide the trainings in the premises of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek.

     
Tasks and Responsibilities
     
   

The trainer is expected to train the OSCE POiB staff in written English language, in particular:

  • Grammar and formal style;
  • Terminology of the official/business correspondence;
  • Specific terminology used by the international organizations;
  • Basic analytical writing skills (describe, advance, support and prove an argument);
  • Basic skills to describe causalities (logical flow from cause to effect);
  • Identify useful course material, literature, online resources and courses and mentor staff in their use;
  • Ensure that the lessons are planned and delivered in a highly participative and interactive manner and responsive to the request and suggestions;
  • Other related tasks based on need and agreement.
     
Necessary Qualifications
     
   
  • Degree in linguistics (English);
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language. Native fluency is an asset;
  • Experience in delivering courses in advanced written English;
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in the sphere;
  • Experience in teaching adults in professional environment;
  • Strong  professional  communication  and  interpersonal  skills  and  ability  to  transfer knowledge to the staff;
  • Knowledge of  the Russian language is an asset;
  • Computer literacy, including but not limited to the use of MS Office (MS Word, Power Point and Excel programs).

Deliverables

  • Conduct testing to define the level, form groups and adjust curricular; 
  • Conduct the training courses according to agreed time frame;
  • Upon completion of the classes, provide a comprehensive report on the progress, including recommendations;
  • Provide trainees with innovative and advanced teaching materials, documents and other sources.

Remuneration Package
     
   

Remuneration is highly compatible and commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the trainer, the detailed work plan to be agreed upon and subject to adjustments based on tests results. The remuneration will be based on the current OSCE consultancy rates.
