Mandatory:

University Degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Social Science or equivalent (graduate degree preferred)

Minimum 6 years progressively responsible experience, preferably in managing the co-ordination between organizational headquarters and their field representation, and/or in planning and co-ordination in a large (international) organisation

Experience with project writing and project implementation, preferably of fairly complex initiatives
-
Experience with identifying and sharing of good practices in the field of democratization, education and/or human rights
-
Detailed understanding of the institutional landscape in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the overall political situation
-
Professional fluency in written and spoken English

Ability and willingness to work as a team member and with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds and diverse political views while maintaining impartiality and objectivity with tact and diplomacy in dealing with both external persons and multinational staff

Excellent organisational skills, with ability to supervise others, work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and process large amounts of information

Ability to operate windows applications, including word processing and email

Tasks and Responsibilities |
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director (Operations) of the Human Dimension Department (HDD), the Senior Reporting and Information Officer is the principal staff member responsible for the co-ordination of the Department¿s information and reporting activities. The incumbent is also responsible for providing advice related to reporting, external communication and related issues to the Deputy Director (Operations), Deputy Director (Programmes) and Head of the Human Dimension Department. Specific duties include:

Co-ordinates the day to day activities of the Communication and Reporting Section. This includes all activities related to drafting and clearance of internal and external reports, external publications and multi-media projects, co-operation between the Mission¿s Press and Public Information (PPI) unit, Head Office programmatic sections and Field Offices and ensuring that the programmatic work of the Human Dimension Department is properly promoted to external audiences;

Works to ensure better promotion of the work of the department, and the Mission as a whole, to both internal and external audiences; strengthening of Head Office and Field Office liaison, co-operation and information dissemination particularly as regards reporting and public information; promoting of synergies across the programmatic sections; and general improvement of departmental information management;

Co-ordinates the development of improved information tools (manuals, PowerPoint presentations, information leaflets, intranet, website and others) that both educate internally regarding appropriate procedures and mechanisms, and promote externally regarding departmental programmatic activities;

Suggests and develops guidelines that improve and streamline procedures related to reporting and public information. Following consultation with HDD Management, communicates revised policies to relevant Head Office and Field Office departmental staff. Provides ongoing training and clarification as required;

Co-ordinates the development, preparation, publication and dissemination of reports, external publications and other information materials on HDD programmatic activities;
Advises and assists in the development and maintenance of an effective link between the public information and reporting functions of the department and the Mission¿s Press and Public Information and Policy and Planning Units;

Works with HDD Management, and other Heads of Section to identify cross-cutting synergies among areas of HDD work and incorporates them into established reporting and public information mechanisms;

Performs other duties as required
