A vacancy has arisen in the Headquarters of the OSCE Presence in Albania for a Senior Political and Reporting Assistant (G6) within the Head of Presence Office.
|

|
|
Tasks and Responsibilities
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Political, Public Affairs and Reporting Officer (CPO), the Senior Political and Reporting Assistant plays a major role in producing the mission’s reporting/analytical documents. Among other things, the incumbent:
- Compiles information and writes reports, from short briefings to substantial analyses and recommendations, on the work of the Presence and on specific issues and topics as requested;
- Monitors and researches domestic and regional developments that are political, social and economic in nature, as well as those related to responsibilities under the Presence’s mandate;
- Maintains close familiarity with the work of the different Departments of the Presence, and with the wider context of the Presence’s work, to be able to report to stakeholders;
- Analyzes and provides recommendations to the supervisor and other senior management on current topics of interest;
- Participates in meetings/seminars as observer and reports accordingly;
- Meets routinely with a variety of stakeholders from the government, opposition, civil society and media, including in the field, to assess the local situation and contribute to identifying trends and developing future policies, priorities and activities of the Presence;
- Supports liaison with international partners and donors. Receives visitors as representative of the Mission, attends and contributes to briefings of visiting delegations, and responds to requests for information;
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Necessary Qualifications
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Completed secondary education supplemented by formal studies in political science, social science or administration;
- Minimum six years of relevant working experience dealing with developments of a political, social and economic nature;
- Established ability to collect and comprehend a wide range of information and perform appropriate political analysis, including but not limited to producing reports related to early warning issues;
- Professional fluency in English and Albanian, both oral and written. Very strong drafting;
- Experience working with governmental officials and other political actors, as well as civil society;
- Strong computer skills and ability to operate all Microsoft Office applications;
- Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds, whilst maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
- Must be an Albanian resident.

Remuneration Package
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
According to the fixed OSCE salary scale, the monthly remuneration for G6 is approximately 922.42 EURO, subject to National Social Security deductions which currently is approximately 80 Euro.
Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. At the discretion of the appointing authority a higher step may be approved up to a maximum of step 3, subject to specific conditions.
