Tasks and Responsibilities | ||
Under supervision of Deputy Chief of Mission Security the incumbents carry out the following duties: 1. Carries out a professional and safe transportation of Head of Mission (HoM) to official functions and meetings. (a) Provides a safe and professional driving of the Head of Mission, Deputy Head of Mission (DHoM) or other assigned passengers whenever is required including weekends and holidays; (b) Maintains vehicle(s) to a high standard, ensuring they are daily vehicle checks for oil, water, fuel, battery, brakes, tyres and any other item connected to the vehicle maintenance and safety; (c) Ensures that the vehicle is cleaned all the times and performs minor repairs when required and ensures through Senior Transport Officer that regular service of the vehicles is maintained; (d) Be familiar with the best routes to and from destinations, including to the airports, and be prepared to alter driving routes when traffic/weather conditions warrant; (e) In case of incident/accident or any emergency event, applies response procedures and information flow/reporting flaw as per SOP; (f) Applies security awareness in his/her daily duty activities by familiarizing with all open sources of information and constant contact with Security Operations Room/Situation Centre for receiving and delivering relevant security information. 2. Carries out administrative functions related to HoM/DHoM travel, or activity. (a) Assists the Special Assistant to the HoM and Secretary of the HoM/DHoM in terms of delivering and collecting official correspondence; (b) Co-operate and liaise with the Special Assistant to HoM, the Secretary of the HoM, the Secretary of DHoM and Security Escort and Division of Security and Safety (DSS) on the agenda of the HoM, DHoM, VIP visitors and ensures that all the external meetings schedule and drive times between destinations is well-planned; (c) Maintains the backup vehicle to be used in case needed and the armoured vehicles of the DSS, ensuring the operational readiness in case of changes in the security situation. 3. Under advice and instructions of immediate supervisor, carries on Security escort functions, by ensuring VIPs and HoM/DHoM security and safety at all times. (a) Ensures a secure and safe environment for the daily movement or schedule of VIPs to their destinations or activities and a timely departure and arrival of the VIP to the desired location; (b) Adheres to all security and safety procedures of the Mission in accordance with given instructions and responds to the situations imposing a direct or indirect threat to the VIPs and provides assistance and first aid to the VIPs in case of accident /incident; (c) Ensures that movement control and Situation Centre are informed on time for every movement of HoM/DHoM vehicle out of Headquarters AOR; (d) Be aware and adhere to the Health and Safety policies and procedures and instructions on security emergency response situations; (e) Co-operates with DSS and Security Escort for selecting routes that meet security requirements and that the vehicle protective security features are always in proper order; (f) Be familiar with all Security Instructions and adhere to these at all times, use counter surveillance skills, while applying defensive driving skills at all times in order to ensure HoM/DHoM safety; (g) Consult on regular bases with the immediate supervisor for any suspicious activity or security threat that may arise and endanger security and safety of the HoM/DHoM. 4. Performs other duties as assigned. |

Necessary Qualifications | ||
- Completed secondary education supplemented by formal driving training. It is mandatory to have “B” and “C” category driving licence - A minimum of two years driving experience including driving of armoured vehicles - Good written and oral communication skills of English and local language - Good skills in vehicle repair and Defensive Driving, formal training in Close Protection - Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds - Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities | ||

Remuneration Package | ||
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 750.00 Euro. Social benefits will include participation in the OSCE Group Insurance Plan (Health, Life, Accidental Disability and Temporary Incapacity Insurance) and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. At the discretion of the appointing authority a higher step may be approved up to a maximum of step 3 subject to specific conditions. |
