Background    
     
    OSCE field operations are the front line of the OSCE’s engagement on the ground, supporting host authorities in fulfilling OSCE commitments and implementing a comprehensive approach to security. The OSCE Mission to Skopje is the Organization's longest-serving field operation working on inter-ethnic relations, early warning, the rule of law, democratic governance and transnational threats and organized crime
     
Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

Under the overall supervision of the Mission Security Officer and operational supervision of the Security Assistant, the incumbent is responsible for the following duties:

  1. Monitoring the movement in and around the work premises, staying alert to any emergency or hostile activity and reporting any incident to the supervisor;
  2. Patrolling the OSCE Mission to Skopje premises and parking areas;
  3. Controlling access into the premises and providing early warning to a threat;
  4. Receiving and registering external visitors according to the established procedures and being a first point of contact with the Mission for outside visitors;
  5. Acting as fire warden during emergency evacuation;
  6. Performing security check of incoming mail and packages;
  7. Performing office checks after working hours and registering MM’s staying after working hours on premises;
  8. Assuming certain Situation Centre Operator’s duties for limited duration of time, when required;
  9. Performing occasionally protocol coverage to Mission events and security assessment of situation;
  10. Performing other duties as assigned.
     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of North Macedonia;
  • Completed secondary education;
  • Minimum one year experience working in security related jobs in a large organization, clean police/military record;
  • Computer literate with practical experience with Windows packages;
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and in local languages;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.

Remuneration Package    
     
   

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is approximately EUR 871.00.

Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance and the OSCE Provident Fund.

Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. At the discretion of the appointing authority a higher step may be approved up to a maximum of step 3 subject to specific conditions.
