The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine is looking for highly qualified, motivated and experienced Ukrainian professionals for the position of Security Assistant in Dnipro. The OSCE is committed to achieving a better balance of women and men within the Organization.
NOTE: Initial duration of appointment/assignment for this post is until 31 March 2018, subject to a subsequent OSCE Permanent Council Decision to extend the mandate of the Mission. Confirmation of post grade is pending completion of classification review.

Tasks and Responsibilities | ||
Under the direct supervision of the Security Officer, the Security Assistant is responsible for the following tasks:
1. Checks incoming correspondence, reports important information to the Security Officer for clarification responds as requested and ensures work condition of office equipment is proper for receiving/sending data; 2. Assess the urgency of incoming reports/mail/fax and, as required checks with the Security Officer for clarification/confirmation and informs the Chief of Mission Security and Head of Operations Unit through the Security Officer; 3. Maintains the working condition of all the communication and IT equipment in the Security Communication Desk; 4. Monitors movement of all Mission members and Mission vehicles travelling within and in the closest vicinity of area of responsibility by using all means of communication available in 24 Hours Duty Room. If no radio/telephone link available with Mission members, immediately reports to the Security Officer to provide necessary steps in contacting the patrol; 5. Ensures that communication checks with the Duty Room, the Head Office and Field Offices are carried out as scheduled; 6. Assists in all arrangements related to the emergency evacuation (medical, planned, disaster) of the Mission members from the point of receipt of notification up to delivery of the Mission member to safe place; 7. Drafts security reports as instructed by the Security Officer; 8. Prepares daily reports covering all details affecting the security situation of all area/sites of responsibility. The report is produced in a written form in English language and is presented at the end of the shift to the Security Officer; 9. Maintains written record Log book on any significant radio or telephone messages passed or received; ensures messages are passed to the Security Officer for further consideration; 10. Performs other related duties; |

Necessary Qualifications | ||
Assignments are subject to successfully meeting the medical standards set out by the OSCE. Medical documentation will be requested for all candidates who successfully pass through the final interview stage and documentation will be further assessed by OSCE/SMM Medical Officers. |

Remuneration Package | ||
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 988.00 Euro/month. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna health insurance scheme and Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. | ||
