University education in international studies, public policy, political science or law or related fields

Knowledge of regional political history and developments

Some knowledge of the OSCE principles and commitments

Level of Professional Competence Requirements |
Furthermore, this level of responsibility requires the following:

First level university degree or equivalent experience
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience including minimum 1 year in a relevant field strongly preferred

Mission Specific Requirements |
Additionally, this particular post has specific requirements:
Mandatory:

Tasks and Responsibilities |
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Head of the Human Dimension Department, the Reporting and Analysis Officer:
-
Compiles all Human Dimension Department reports for the Mission and Secretariat, based on the input provided by the department Units, including weekly, monthly, background, spot and annual reports;
-
Researches, compiles and analyzes information concerning Human Dimension Department activities and reports through the established reporting channels;
-
Liaises with the Department's Units (Democratic Governance Unit, Rule of Law Unit and Coordination Unit Inter-ethnic Relations) to collect inputs, background materials and other relevant information for reporting purposes; ensures exchange and analysis of information related to Human Dimension Department activities;

Ensures consistency in the reporting of the Department; edits and provides proof reading for various planning, analytical and reporting documents;

Compiles speaking points, briefing papers and similar documents based on the input provided by relevant Units of the Department;
-
Drafts press releases and other public materials to promote the Human Dimension Department's activities as well as Department's contributions for the Mission's publications, presentations, background or reporting documents; reviews and suggests updates of the Mission/Department's Website;

Ensures the timely information for Human Dimension Department staff on activities of other mission Departments/Units as well as OSCE field missions and Institutions;
-
Provides advice and guidance to Human Dimension Department staff on reporting issues and co-ordinates reporting activities within the Department ensuring quality in information gathering and reporting;

Performs other duties as required.
