Vacancy Number  VNTURG00123    Job Title  Project Assistant    Organization Name  OSCE Centre in Ashgabat    Background        Under the supervision of the Human Dimension Officer, the Project Assistant provides administrative, logistical and programme support to the Human Dimension as well as in gathering information and liaising with local partners. The incumbent reports directly to the Human Dimension Officer and serves as assistant for related issues in the Office.      Tasks and Responsibilities        1. Administrative support

-  In close communication with the FAU and with the support of the other Programme Assistant of the HD, carries out practical organization of all HD programme activities by providing administrative, logistical support and related work in IRMA/ORACLE (raising PR`s, receiving goods, uploading HD programmes - and project-related information in the OSCE DocIn System) for the organization of seminars, conferences, official visits, event management and study trips. Compiles background material and draft papers for seminars and conferences, prepares evaluation forms, pre and post tests for the participants and reviews them; -  As required, provides oral interpretation and translation of written documents from English into Russian language and vice versa as requested by Supervisor, and performs other administrative duties as required.

 

 

2. Programmatic support

Provides assistance in summarizing - on daily basis, news bulletin`s and other information on the development of the host country in the Human Dimension sphere in line with the Centre`s UBP connected but not limited to: human rights, independence of jurisdiction and rule of law, penitentiary and educational reforms, gender equality, national minorities, freedom of religion or belief, prevention of domestic violence, combating trafficking in human beings, etc. -  Provides assistance in the project implementation; -  Compiles and maintain files, projects and other relevant information relevant to HD in electronic storages; -  Assists in maintaining communication with all relevant governmental counterparts during the project preparation and implementation process; translates required correspondence, note verbale, letters, agenda of events, speech, informational content for the web site, compiles summaries of the meetings and all other relevant documents as per Supervisors request. Some of the documents may be of confidential nature within the assigned area of responsibility; -  Replacing the other Programme Assistant, when needed.

3. Conducts other tasks as assigned      Necessary Qualifications        Education: Secondary school graduation.

 Experience: At least three years of relevant experience in office and project management and administration and knowledge of OSCE principles, structure and policies. Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft applications. Work experience in international organizations or companies would be an asset.

  Languages: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Turkmen and Russian.

       Remuneration Package        Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deduction, is EUR  837.25 (1 time in a month). OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Turkmenistan. Social benefits will include possibility of participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale.
