Background
The incumbent will be assigned to secure the efficient implementation of the Extra-budgetary project 5400429 Support to Women’s Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan in conformity with the Mandate of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan (PCUz). This includes assistance in organizing and implementation of project activities defined in the project proposal, conducting research on subject matters, assistance in identification and coordination with the national and international stakeholders, identification of local stakeholders for project events, provision of project-related and ad-hoc reports, representing the PCUz at international, regional and national events related to the project.
Tasks and responsibilities
Under the guidance of HD Senior Project Officers, the incumbent performs the following duties:
Research, Analysis and Reporting a) Provides research related to the work and the mandate of the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan (WCU) b) Maintains and updates reports, correspondence and other relevant material; keeps record of reports received; classifies and codes materials being filed
Project Management functions a) Proactively co-ordinates with the main project partner, the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan (WCU) and other concerned ministries, non-governmental organizations and any other players as required for successful project implementation; b) Establishes co-operation and collaboration with external stakeholders including OSCE executive structures; c) In co-ordination with Human Dimension Unit and national stakeholders organizes the events in the framework of the project, provides administrative and logistical support in organizing visits of the host country representatives to the regional and international events related the work and mandate of the WCU; d) Analyses and identifies urgent project requirements of the project partners, formulates proposals for those priorities in consultation with the Human Dimension Unit; e) Drafts correspondence/reports on the basis of instruction received; prepares summaries of relevant to the project activities’ documents; interprets (consecutively) when needed, provides written language services between Russian and/or Uzbek and English for the project related documents;
Administrative/Secretarial functions
a) Assists in organizing meetings with national partners and external stakeholders, maintains calendar of the project activities; arranges meetings; places and screens telephone calls and responds to routine and non-technical requests for information in relation to the above mentioned activities; maintains a follow-up system on responses due, reminds the supervisor orally and in writing of the observance of deadlines; keeps the supervisor informed of any foreseen difficulties; b) Performs other duties as assigned.
Necessary qualifications
Education: High school diploma, preferably supplemented by relevant technical or university courses or trainings provided by other relevant organizations; Experience: At least 4 years of relevant experience in government, non-government or international organizations/private sector institutions working on gender-related issues, and in organizing activities with wide-range of national stakeholders. Computer literacy and mastery on a user level of Microsoft Office applications. Languages: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Russian (Uzbek would be an asset).

Appointment is normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. At the discretion of the appointing authority a higher step may be approved up to a maximum of step 3 subject to specific conditions.
