Background Under the supervision of the Economic and Environment Officer, the Project Assistant provides administrative, logistical and programme support to the Economic and Environment dimension as well as in gathering information and liaising with local partners. The incumbent reports directly to the Economic and Environment Officer and serves as assistant for related issues in the Office. Tasks and Responsibilities 1. Administrative support
- In close communication with the FAU and with the support of Senior Programme Assistant of the EED, carries out practical organization of all EE programme activities by providing administrative, logistical support and related work in IRMA/ORACLE (raising PR`s, receiving goods, uploading EED programme- and project-related information in the OSCE DocIn System;) for the organization of seminars, conferences, official visits, event management and study trips. Compiles background material and draft papers for seminars and conferences, prepares evaluation forms, pre and post tests for the participants and reviews them; - As required, provides oral interpretation and translation of written documents from English into the Russian language and vice versa as requested by Supervisor, and performs other administrative duties as required.
2. Programmatic support
- Provides assistance in summarizing- on daily basis, news bulletin`s and other information on the development of the host country in the economic and environmental sphere in line with the Centre`s UBP connected but not limited to: combating corruption, money laundering and terrorism financing, energy security and renewable energy sources, transport security and trade policies, support to the implementation of the Aarhus Convention, management of natural resources, waste management and labour migration - Provides assistance in the project implementation; - Compiles and maintain files, projects and other relevant information relevant to EED in electronic storages; - Assists in maintaining communication with all relevant governmental counterparts during the project preparation and implementation process; translates required correspondence, note verbale, letters, agendas of events, speech, informational content for the web site, compiles summaries of the meetings and all other relevant documents as per Supervisors request. Some of the documents may be of confidential nature within the assigned area of responsibility. - Replacing Senior Programme Assistant, when needed
3. Conducts other tasks as assigned Necessary Qualifications Education: Secondary school graduation
Experience: At least three years of relevant experience in office and project management and administration and knowledge of OSCE principles, structure and policies. Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft applications. Work experience in international organizations or companies would be an asset.
Languages: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Turkmen and Russian. Remuneration Package Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deduction, is EUR 838 (12 times a year). OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Turkmenistan. Social benefits will include possibility of participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale.
