Tasks and Responsibilities
The Programme Assistant will work within the Community Safety Development Section of the Department for Security and Public Safety. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Community Policing Officer, the Programme Assistant has delegated responsibility for:
- Researches, monitors and analyses the performance and the effectiveness of all activities related to the Community Safety Development Section. Submits written spot/analyses reports. Maintains and updates relevant files, including all documents, statistical and progress reports, written and e-mail correspondence, and any other relevant material
- Provides written language services between Albanian and Serbian and English for programme related documents when required by the supervisor/s. When appropriate, provide language interpretation (consecutive and/or simultaneous) and administrative support to the supervisor/s during meetings, presentations, briefings, trainings and capacity-building initiatives with any of the public safety agencies or any other agency, be it internal or external
- Provides a communication link between all involved elements of the community safety institutions in order to assist in the development of all respective institutions leading to an improvement of community safety
- Establishes and implements productive and co-operative working relationships with domestic and international interlocutors, with respect to community safety related matters and activities visiting, organizing meetings or logistics, and also taking minutes and reporting
- Supports all project based activities, assists in preparation of project documents, budget, monitoring implementation, assistance and evaluation
- Submits weekly/bi-weekly written reports, or as instructed, reports on the activities and progress of implementing projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned. May be called to drive official vehicles
Necessary Qualifications
- Completed secondary education supplemented by formal administrative or languages course
- Holding a valid driving license
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience working with public safety institutions and the respective local institutions in translation and interpretation, preferably with international organizations; established experience in monitoring, researching and analyzing functions and the use of performance matrixes
- Proven administrative, co-ordination and organizational, and Basic Project Cycle Management skills
- Computer literate with practical experience with Microsoft packages;Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and in local languages
Remuneration Package
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 1054.42 Euro/month. Social benefits will include participation in the OSCE Group Insurance Plan (Health, Life, Accidental Disability and Temporary Incapacity Insurance) and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. At the discretion of the appointing authority a higher step may be approved up to a maximum of step 3 subject to specific conditions
