Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

The Programme Assistant will work within the Serious and Organized Crime Section of the Department for Security and Public Safety. Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Serious and Organized Crime Section, the Programme Assistant has delegated responsibility for:

  • Researches, monitors and analyzes the performance and the operational effectiveness of all activities related to the different activities carried out by Serious and Organized Crime Section. Submits written spot/analyses reports. Maintains and updates all relevant files, including all documents, statistical and progress reports, written and e-mail correspondence, and any other relevant material;
  • Provides written language services between Albanian and Serbian and English for programme related documents when required by the supervisor/s. When appropriate, provide language translation (consecutive and/or simultaneous) and administrative support to the supervisor/s during meetings, presentations, briefings, trainings and capacity-building initiatives with any of the Public Safety Agencies or any other agency, be it internal or external; screens calls and visits before allowing access to the supervisor/s before scheduling appointments.
  • Provides a communication link between all involved elements of the public safety institutions in order to assist in the development of all respective institutions leading to an improvement of specialized trainings related to combating organized crime in various fields;.
  • Establishes and maintains productive and co-operative working relationships with local and international interlocutors, with respect to combating organized crime and respective training development related matters and activities;
  • Supports all project based activities;
  • Submits weekly/bi-weekly written reports, or as instructed, reports on the activities and progress of all projects and activities;
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Need to be ready to drive official vehicle upon the request of line manager or upon the need in the Department.
     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Completed secondary education supplemented by formal administrative and language courses. Holding a valid driving license;
  • Minimum of four (4) years relevant experience in translation and interpretation, preferably with the OSCE or other international organizations;
  • Proven experiences of monitoring, researching and analyzing functions and the use of performance matrixes are essential;
  • Proven experiences of working with public safety institutions and the respective local authorities as well as other international and local organizations;
  • Proven administrative, co-ordination and organizational skills;
  • Computer literate with practical experience with Microsoft applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and local languages.

Remuneration Package    
     
    Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is € 1.026.67 Euro/month. Social benefits will include participation in the OSCE group medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. At the discretion of the appointing authority a higher step may be approved up to a maximum of step 3 subject to specific conditions.
