Background    
     
   

OSCE field operations are the front line of the OSCE’s engagement on the ground, supporting host authorities in fulfilling OSCE commitments and implementing a comprehensive approach to security. The OSCE Mission to Skopje is the Organization's longest-serving field operation working on inter-ethnic relations, early warning, the rule of law, democratic governance and transnational threats and organized crime.

With the aim to replace regular staff on prolonged absence and strengthen its administrative capacities related to the implementation of project activities, the Mission is looking to engage one Programme Assistant in the Democratization Unit/Human Dimension Department, under temporary fixed-term appointment until the end of 2021.

     
Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Democratization Unit, the incumbent will be responsible for:

  1. Providing active support in the day-to-day implementation of the youth activities within the Supporting Democratic Governance and Inclusion Processes through participation in meetings/discussions, communicating with national/international counterparts, maintaining and keeping accurate track of all project documentation in accordance with work plans;
  2. Providing administrative and logistic assistance related to the organization of youth-related trainings, workshops, conferences, roundtables or other events for the purposes of project implementation;
  3. Researching, collecting and maintaining background information regarding youth developments in the country, including that of national legislation;
  4. Providing translation and/or consecutive interpretation from local languages (Macedonian and Albanian) to English and vice versa, drafting minutes, concept notes and inputs;
  5. Performing any other duties as assigned.
     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of North Macedonia;
  • Completed secondary education supplemented by studies or training in project management, administration or related fields;
  • Minimum three (3) years of work experience in related activities at national or international level, particularly on youth participation and youth related activities;
  • Established knowledge of and experience in project cycle management and procedures for preparation and implementation of project activities;
  • Computer literate with practical experience with Windows packages;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and in local languages (Macedonian and Albanian);
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relations with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds.

Remuneration Package    
     
   

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is approximately EUR 1,183.00.

Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance and the OSCE Provident Fund.
