OSCE field operations are the front line of the OSCE’s engagement on the ground, supporting host authorities in fulfilling OSCE commitments and implementing a comprehensive approach to security. The OSCE Mission to Skopje is the Organization's longest-serving field operation working on inter-ethnic relations, early warning, the rule of law, democratic governance and transnational threats and organized crime. |

Tasks and Responsibilities |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Under the direct supervision of the Political Adviser and in close cooperation with the members of the Political and Reporting Unit, the incumbent will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining contact with representatives of Government, political parties and civil society organizations, on a weekly basis through meetings, regular email and telephone contacts, thus providing and collecting information of relevance for the work of the Unit;
- Drafting fact-based informative inputs as assigned by the Chief of Unit and Political Adviser and upon own initiative for the Unit's Weekly Political Overview reports, Mission Activity Reports as well as ad hoc reports;
- Coordinating and complementing the work of the other members of the Unit, through following political developments, especially those related to issues that could potentially impact areas within the Mission's mandate;
- Providing regular updates and briefings on political and legislative developments in oral and written form to the Unit as well as the wider Mission and respective OSCE bodies, as tasked;
- Preparing talking points, meeting notes, briefing materials, as well as inputs for speeches in the aforementioned areas;
- Providing and composing analyses regarding current and potential future political developments for the Political and Reporting Unit, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Mission, as tasked;
- Performing other duties as required.

Necessary Qualifications |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of North Macedonia;
- Completed secondary education supplemented by studies or training in international studies, public policy, political science or law, international human rights law;
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in related activities at national or international level;
- Established knowledge of political issues and experience in liaising with political parties;
- Experience in preparing political reports;
- Computer literate with practical experience with Windows packages;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and in local languages;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.

Remuneration Package |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is approximately EUR 1,360.00.
Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance and the OSCE Provident Fund.
Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. At the discretion of the appointing authority a higher step may be approved up to a maximum of step 3 subject to specific conditions.
