Background    
     
   

Objectives of the Assignment:

Production of video and photographs material on various SMM activities in the country.

 

Concept:

Output will reflect the work and priorities of the Mission.

 

Locations: Kyiv, Kherson, Odessa, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipro and Kharkiv.

Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

Tasking will be conducted at the request of the OSCE SMM Chief, Press and Public Information Unit. The photographer/videographer will capture relevant activities of the SMM and also accompany senior management under the direction of the Chief, Press and Public Information Unit.

 

The photographs and videos should provide a varied representation of the SMM's work over several days, including interaction with civilians, decision makers etc. and should represent gender balance. The SMM will cover the cost of travel from Kyiv to the corresponding location across the country as well as accommodation and expenses, according to OSCE standard rates. Additional day(s) dedicated to processing/editing photos and videos will be negotiated between the Chief, Press and Public Information Unit and the photographer/videographer.

 

Proper credit will be given (OSCE/name of photographer/videographer). The photos/videos will be published in OSCE publications, on the OSCE website and elsewhere if deemed appropriate by the Chief, Press and Public Information Unit. Furthermore, the photographer/videographer authorizes the OSCE to release material to the media for publication. The OSCE Press and Public Information Unit (PPIU) will have copyright of all photos. B-roll footage will be distributed to broadcasters in Ukraine and worldwide.

 

All material produced while on assignment for the OSCE SMM may not be distributed through means other than official OSCE SMM channels without express permission granted by the Chief, Press and Public Information Unit.

 

Expected Output/Deliverables:

  • Production of 2-3 minute video films including post production, editing, subtitles, lighting and cameras;
  • Production of slides with subtitles for OSCE SMM events;
  • High-quality photos selected by the photographer, including appropriate captioning information.

 

Photographs and videos should be delivered to PPIU by Dropbox within two (2) days after each trip or upon request.

     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Professional photographer (seven years’ relevant experience).
  • Professional videographer (five years’ relevant experience).
  • Working knowledge of English.
  • Excellent knowledge of Ukrainian and Russian.
  • Knowledge of the OSCE and the region would be an asset.

Remuneration Package    
     
   

Remuneration will be commensurate to educational background and years of relevant experience of the selected candidates, in line with the OSCE Staff Regulations and Staff Rules.

 

Additional payments:

  • The travel costs (train ticket) by most economic route from Kyiv to requested destination within Ukraine and back.
  • Daily subsistence allowance (DSA) at the established monthly OSCE rate in accordance with FAI 9.
