Background
     
   

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine is looking for highly qualified, motivated and experienced Ukrainian professional for the position of National Stress Management Officer with its Head Office in Kyiv. The OSCE is committed to achieving a better balance of women and men within the Organization.

 

Initial duration of assignment for this post is for a period of 12 months, with a possibility of extension, subject to a subsequent OSCE Permanent Council Decision to extend the mandate of the Mission.

Tasks and Responsibilities
     
   

The incumbent assists the Senior Psychologist/Stress Management Advisor in identification/evaluation of stress levels within the mission, training in stress management, Post Incident Procedure (PIP) and other topics, policy development, and crisis counseling. This position deals with confidential information and assists in administrative matters. More specifically the incumbent is responsible for:

 

  1. Pre-employment and Post-Employment Interviews and utilize instruments to evaluate stress levels:
  • Interview incoming and outgoing monitors utilizing a specific interview format;
  • Establish a process for analysis of themes of entrance and exit interviews;
  • Provide and present clear written and visual representation of interview data results in the form of themes so that it may be presented quarterly to senior management.

 

In conjunction with the Psychologist/Stress Management Advisor, research and utilize instruments to assess stress levels in potential employees (during hiring process) and post-employment (after staff has exited employment).

 

2. Provides support for ongoing training activities through organization and active participation in:

  • Stress Management workshops;
  • Post Incident Procedure trainings (week-long);
  • Secondary Stress and Resiliency Building workshops.

 

These trainings may involve traveling throughout the mission to all 10 teams, hubs and forward patrol bases.

 

3. Provides counselling in an as needed basis:

  • Crisis counselling;
  • Researches local resources and international options for referral;
  • Advise the Psychologist/Stress Management Advisor regarding host country/local mental health providers, infrastructure and set up local referral source;
  • Works and communicates closely with Senior Psychologist/Stress Management Advisor on all cases.

 

4. Provides support for the Post Incident Procedure (PIP).

 

Maintain an up to date data base, liaison with Learning and Development on Post Incident training package, and ongoing support of Peers on the ground.

 

5. Assist Senior Psychologist/Stress Management Advisor with policy development, e.g. SOPs, instructions, recommendations.

 

6. Works closely with Psychologist/Stress Management Advisor to actively developing positive work/organizational culture through development of electronic social network.

 

7. Perform any other duty as assigned.

 

 

     
Necessary Qualifications
     
   
  • Citizenship of Ukraine;
  • A first level University degree in psychology  or related field;
  • Minimum  2 years of professional experience in providing:
    • Counselling;
    • Developing and executing workshops and trainings;
    • Stress management;
    • Training in critical incidents (TRIM, CISM, academic).
  • Computer literate with practical experience with Microsoft applications;
  • Holding a valid driving license;
  • Professional fluency in Ukrainian, Russian and English languages, both written and oral;
  • Ability to cope with physical hardship and willingness to work extra hours and in an environment with limited infrastructure, proven resilience to high stress environments;
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • Cultural sensitivity and judgment.

Remuneration Package
     
   

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 1,691.00 Euro/month. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna health insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale.
