On regular basis every year, OSCE supports the annual commemoration of the World Press Freedom Day in Tajikistan. Media freedom and access to information feed into the wider development objective of empowering people. Empowerment is a multi-dimensional social and political process that helps people gain control over their own lives. This can only be achieved through access to accurate, fair and unbiased information. However, in any society in order to make freedom of expression a reality, there must be:
These elements, along with media professionals adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards designed by practitioners, serve as the fundamental infrastructure on which freedom of expression can prevail. In 2020, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) is planning to facilitate organization of a conference dedicated to commemoration of 3 May World Press Freedom Day. The main goal of this event is to promote journalism as a profession among youth and students. The POiD plans to conduct the 2020 conference dedicated to 3 May World Press Freedom Day in TEDxTalks format. Each speaker will have 20 minutes to present their inspiring story related to journalism activity and share it with the audience in an inspiring mood. Objective: The OSCE POiD requires the services of a national graphic design consultant to assist OSCE POiD in developing the visuals of the conference dedicated to 3 May World Press Freedom Day. Duration of assignment: 10 February – 10 May 2020. |

Tasks and Responsibilities | ||
The national graphic design consultant should assist the OSCE POiD to: - Develop logo and brand book of the conference dedicated to 3 May World Press Freedom Day; - Develop designs of all promotion materials of the conference dedicated to 3 May World Press Freedom Day; - Develop designs of all banners and brand walls of the conference dedicated to 3 May World Press Freedom Day. OSCE POiD holds the right to amend or specify the scope of work indicated on this document for the purpose of the assignment. Note: On daily basis, the national graphic design consultant will spend 50% of his/her time for the mentioned scope of work. Organizational Setting: The national graphic design consultant will work under direct supervision of the OSCE POiD Media Officer and in close consultation with national communications consultant. Inputs: The OSCE POiD will provide the national graphic design consultant with the necessary support for the fulfilment of his/her tasks. Deliverables:
- Brand book of the conference dedicated to 3 May World Press Freedom Day; - Visuals of all promotional materials of the conference dedicated to 3 May World Press Freedom Day ready for production; - Visuals of all banners, brand walls of the conference dedicated to 3 May World Press Freedom Day; - Visuals of all social media accounts of the conference dedicated to 3 May World Press Freedom Day; - Other visuals of the conference dedicated to 3 May World Press Freedom Day as requested.

Remuneration Package | ||
The consultant will be remunerated commensurate with consultant’s experience and qualifications in accordance with OSCE established rates. Applicants should indicate whether they wish to be included in the OSCE Roster of Consultants for similar assignments. | ||
