Tasks and Responsibilities |

Under the supervision of the Economic and Environmental Officer, the incumbent:
performs substantive thematic functions with regard to the OSCE’s Economic and Environmental strategy, incl. analysing political context, economic and environmental trends, possible risks and obstacles and offers the ways to rectify them
suggests appropriate strategy and tactics in fulfilling position tasks at the programmatic and project management level, incl. comparing traditional and innovative approaches
performs substantive administrative tasks with regard to the OSCE’s Economic and Environmental strategy, incl. financial management, budget development, logistical issues, etc.
contributes to programme development and planning, incl. suggesting project ideas, drafting project proposals, identifying partners, etc.
implements programme and project activities with regard to the OSCE’s Economic and Environmental strategy and according to the OSCE regulations
contributes to the increase in visibility of the OSCE’s Economic and Environmental activities by developing event announcements, press releases/news items, speeches, presentations and other relevant documents to the senior management
regularly reports to the supervisors and provides input to the OSCE reports, as requested
coordinates his/her work with other OSCE units and structures, including but not limited to financial tasks and logistical issues
establishes and maintains professional network with relevant stakeholders and partners
constantly stays abreast of the latest developments with regard to the OSCE’s Economic and Environmental programmes
performs other tasks as requested by giving a special attention to accuracy and timeliness |

Necessary Qualifications | ||
|
Education: University degree in economics, business administration, environmental or social sciences, management or a related field.
Professional Experience: At least five years of national or international working experience (government, public or private sector, civil sector, international organisation).
Languages: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Russian languages. Knowledge of Kazakh language will be a strong advantage.
Computer: full computer literacy, incl. operating email and Internet, Microsoft Programmes (incl. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Other: Genuine interest in economic and/or environmental issues. Ability to work independently, under minimum supervision and in multinational teams |

Remuneration Package |
|
|
Monthly remuneration is EUR 2,179. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. At the discretion of the appointing authority a higher step may be approved up to a maximum of step 3, subject to specific conditions.
