Background    
     
   

The Mission will support one workshop for local administrators leading the process of development and implementation of LEAPs. The workshop will aim at enhancing the knowledge of the participants of the LEAPs and will focus on mechanisms that encourage participatory approach of local community.

Objective:

To support the reform process by enhancing good governance principles in the areas of local self-government, gender mainstreaming, urban planning and environment.  

Deliverables:

Material for workshops prepared; workshop successfully delivered; brief report produced.

     
Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

The local expert will:

  • develop the training material related to mechanisms that encourage participatory approach of local community in the area of environmental protection;
  • prepare case studies for the working groups and deliver the module on the participatory mechanisms and involvement of local community in development of LEAP;
  • assist the regional expert during the workshop;
  • prepare a brief report in local language on the delivered module.
     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • University degree in the area of natural sciences, preferably environmental protection/ecology or equivalent experience in the field;
  • 2 years of professional experience in environmental field, including experience related to LEAP;
  • Previous experience with international organizations would be considered as an asset.
