Background
Local Consultant in Serbian Language will be engaged in municipalities Gjilan/Gnjilane and Prishtinë/Priština regions
The Language Acquisition project was initiated by the Office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities (HCNM) in 2011. Through this project, a number of multi-ethnic municipalities benefitted from tailored official language courses for municipal officials. In 2019, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo (OMiK) will be implementing the Language Acquisition project in the Serbian language in selected municipalities in Gjilan/Gnjilane and Prishtinë/Priština regions.
For this purpose, OMiK will hire a Local Consultant/Lecturer to deliver Serbian language courses to selected municipal officials in Gjilan/Gnjilane and Prishtinë/Priština regions. The courses will consist of 96 school hours and will be delivered between 15 April and 13 December 2019, with two 45 min classes held twice a week in each municipality.
As part of the assignment, Local Consultant will prepare and submit reports on progress and completion of the language courses to OMiK. One of the main conditions for the selection of Lecturer is previous experience in teaching the Serbian language to non-mother tongue speakers from communities in Kosovo.

Remuneration will depend on the qualifications and experience of individual experts as well as the detailed work plan to be agreed upon and will be based on the current OSCE consultancy rates.
