Background | ||
The Presence, in co-operation with the Central European Initiative, will carry out an assessment mapping the identifiable good practices in six selected local government units (Albania (Pogradec and Prrenjas), Bosnia and Herzegovina (Gorazde tbc, and Teslic) and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (Ohrid and Struga). The assessment will focus on specific lessons learned and existing good practices, aimed to increase economic growth, reduce unemployment especially among women and youth and enhance greater social cohesion. The assessment will include both qualitative and quantitative research methods, making use of available statistical data, desk research of urban plans and local strategies as well as targeted semi-structured interviews with key actors from the local government unit’s economic context. The Presence will contract a local short term consultant from Bosnia and Herzegovina, which under the lead of the senior expert, will carry out a desk research and a series of semi-structured interviews with relevant stakeholders in the two selected municipalities. His/her input will contribute to the drafting of the assessment report which will be presented to the stakeholders at a regional conference to be held in Pogradec (Albania). |
