In 2020, the OSCE POiD started a new project to support the development of new curricula for journalism faculties of universities in Tajikistan. As part of this project the Office is planning to conduct the assessment of current situation in regard to the current journalism curricula’s comply with needs of local media industry of the country and the worldwide accepted standards in journalism teaching. Based on this survey the Office will support the host country in developing the new curricula for journalism faculties with participation of international and local journalism teaching experts. As part of the project the OSCE POiD will provide Tajikistan with expertise support in writing and printing new text books for universities of the country that will help the students of journalism faculties to strengthen their theoretical skills. In order to assist the universities for well preparing their students for the professional lives after graduation the OSCE POiD is planning to improve capacities of journalism faculties to provide their students with good, up to date practical knowledge and skills through establishing media laboratories. These laboratories will be composed of the following sections: 1. Mini TV Studio 2. Radio Studio 3. Newsroom After gaining sharpened theoretical and practical knowledge and skills students of journalism faculties of Tajik universities will be ready to start their professional lives immediately after their graduations. This will strongly support the improvement of the host country’s media industry and the economic and social life in general. Objective: The OSCE POiD requires the services of an international consultant to assist the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe to develop the list of needed equipment for establishing the media laboratories in the journalism faculties of Tajik National University and the Russian-Tajik Slavonic University. Duration of assignment: 01 August – 31 August 2020

Tasks and Responsibilities | ||
Under the supervision of the POiD Media Officer the consultant will be required to perform the following tasks:
Note: Considering the current situation with the worldwide spread of COVID-19 the POiD is expecting that the hired international consultant will work on remote base. The POiD will hire a local assistant expert to assist the international consultant to gather all needed information for implementing his/her tasks in a timely manner and in desired good quality by the POiD. Remuneration Package | ||
The consultant will be remunerated commensurate with consultant’s experience and qualifications in accordance with OSCE established rates. Applicants should indicate whether they wish to be included in the OSCE Roster of Consultants for similar assignments. | ||
