Background    
     
   

The position is assigned to the Office of the Head of Mission in the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek (POiB) for a four month period or longer. The primary task is to contribute to the unit’s work which includes effective communication of POiB’s mission and activities, building a positive reputation and strengthening POiB’s organizational image on national and international levels.   

     
Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   
  1. Assist the National Press and Public Information Officer (NPPIO) and Press and Public Information Assistant (PPIA), also referred as the supervisors, in a) developing and sharing promotion products, b) administration/operation of communication channels, c) assisting to maintain effective network with media representatives;
  2. Provide regular functional support during various events conducted by the Programme Office;
  3. Provide feedback / report regularly to the supervisors, prepare various written outputs such as: agendas, briefing papers, minutes, and other tasks;
  4. Translate texts, as requested by the supervisors (involving materials in Kyrgyz, Russian and English) and carry out other administrative tasks;
  5. Maintain a record of all news publications, posts, videos and TV/radio airing about the activities of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek;
  6. Perform other duties as required by the supervisors.
     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Applicants should be under the age of 30 on the date of the deadline of the vacancy notice and from an OSCE participating State;
  • University graduates and/or students in the final year of university education at graduate or postgraduate level, with a background in media and communications, art and design, graphic designing, international relations, political science, and the like;
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work in a high-pace environment;
  • Previous experience in working for international organizations or international NGOs;
  • Demonstrated ability to process and classify information quickly and efficiently and autonomously organize your work;
  • Excellent IT knowledge, in particular of Microsoft Office and Internet applications;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people from different national and cultural backgrounds, whilst maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
  • Fluency in Kyrgyz, Russian and English with excellent communication skills.

Remuneration Package    
     
   

The OSCE is not in a position to pay any remuneration or cover any expenses incurred by the intern during his/her stay nor reimburse travel expenses.

The selected intern may participate in the group health insurance scheme at his/her own expense, but the OSCE will cover life and accident/disability insurance. If the intern opts to arrange his/her own medical coverage, he/she shall provide evidence of medical coverage for the duty station he/she applies to, and for any eventual duty trip destinations.

The internship does not constitute a commitment to future employment with the OSCE.
