Background    
     
   

The position is assigned to the Office of the Head of Mission in the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek (POiB). The primary task is to contribute to the unit’s work, which includes effective communication of POiB’s mission and activities, building a positive reputation and strengthening POiB’s organizational image on national and international levels.

     
Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   
  1. Assist the Public Information Assistant (PIA), also referred as the Supervisor, in a) developing and sharing promotion products, b) administration/operation of communication channels, c) maintaining effective networking with media / state / civil society representatives;
  2. Provide regular functional support including good quality photo/video production during various project events and occasions conducted by the Mission;
  3. Provide feedback / report regularly to the supervisor, prepare various written outputs such as: draft social media posts, news items, agendas, briefing papers, minutes, talking points and other correspondence letters; 
  4. Translate texts, as requested by the Supervisor (involving materials in Kyrgyz, Russian and English languages) and carry out other administrative tasks;
  5. Maintain a record of all news publications, posts, videos and TV/radio airing about the activities of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek;
  6. Work on the internship report / research paper requested by the academic institution of the intern; 
  7. Perform other work-related duties as required by the Supervisor.

Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Be at least 19 years old and under the age of 30, have completed two years of full-time studies from an accredited institution;
  • Applicants should preferably be graduated or seeking a degree in the following fields: journalism, PR & communications, social/political sciences, international relations, or other related fields;
  • Excellent technical understanding and application of photography / videography;
  • Knowledge and experience in using photo and video editing software;
  • Demonstrate excellent written/spoken English and Russian languages (knowledge of Kyrgyz language is an asset);
  • Demonstrate commitment to POiB’s mission, vision and values;
  • Display cultural, gender, religious, racial, and age sensitivity;
  • Results-oriented approach to work;
  • Contribute to the productive and positive corporate environment;
  • Ability to work under time pressure.

Remuneration Package    
     
   

The OSCE is not in a position to pay any remuneration or cover any expenses incurred by the intern during his/her stay nor reimburse travel expenses. The selected intern may participate in the group health insurance scheme at his/her own expense, but the OSCE will cover life and accident/disability insurance. If the intern opts to arrange his/her own medical coverage, he/she shall provide evidence of medical coverage for the duty station he/she applies to, and for any eventual duty trip destinations. The internship does not constitute a commitment to future employment with the OSCE.
