Background    
     
   

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine is looking for highly qualified, motivated and experienced Ukrainian professionals for the position of ICT Assistant with its main Office in Kyiv. The OSCE is committed to achieving a better balance of women and men within the Organization.

 

Initial duration of appointment is for 12 months, subject to a subsequent OSCE Permanent Council Decision to extend the mandate of the Mission.

Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

Under the supervision of the National ICT Officer, and overall guidance of Chief of ICT. The ICT Assistant administers and maintains the VMware, SCCM and Anti-Virus servers to provide first and second level IT support. Monitor server logs, Sentinel logs, and network monitoring tools. More specifically, responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:

 

1. Technical Support

 

Queries and expands existing knowledge base; investigates and diagnoses incidents (Including resolution where possible); Provides guidance to ICT Helpdesk Assistants; Assigns Tokens; Confirms and closes resolution of incidents; Handles service requests; Keeps affected users informed about progress; Prepares video conferencing system and equipment when requested; Escalates the troubleshooting process if necessary and notifies supervisor; Performs on-demand antivirus scans and cleans infected systems; Performs minor cabling works, patching.

 

2. Hardware and Software installation, Configuration and Upgrades

 

Installs, configures and tests hardware and peripherals; installs, configures, and tests standard and non-standard application software and software upgrades and updates both on site and through SCCM tools; Prepares resources for test environment; Executes routine tasks related to IT infrastructure; Performs quality checks on outcomes of work performed; Documents system installation, configuration procedures, and current configuration; Provides application support to facilitate effective utilization of the system; Configures printers, plotters and multifunctional devices; Installs and removes software licenses.

 

3. Active Directory Administration

 

Creates, modifies and deletes directory objects in local Organization Unit; Provides and revokes access to the objects by request; Reports on different aspects of Active directory.

 

4. SCCM/Baramundi Client Administration

 

Configures and Deploys Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager clients, diagnoses client hardware and software problems, checks product compliance, monitors not allowed software usage; Reports possible system problems, identifies problems, researches potential problem solution and recommends and implements solutions.

 

5. Performs other job-related duties as assigned

     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Ukrainian citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Ukraine;
  • Completed secondary education, supplemented by formal studies in computer science with a diploma;
  • A minimum of four year experience in IT function in large institutions or companies, preferably in an international environment;
  • Excellent knowledge of PC hardware and peripheral, Microsoft network client operating systems;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, SCCM, Baramundi, VMware, Microsoft Office applications;
  • Knowledge of additional office software will be a benefit (e.9. McAfee virus scan Enterprise, Adobe Products, Translators software, etc);
  • Professional fluency in English, Russian and Ukrainian languages, excellent written and oral communication skills in the mentioned languages;
  • Ability to provide technical training;
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;

Remuneration Package    
     
   

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 988.00 Euro/month. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna Health Insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale.
