Background

OSCE missions and field activities are the front line of OSCE work in countries that require assistance and are the agent through which political decisions are translated into action. Each mission has a different mandate but generally work addresses early warning, preventive diplomacy, conflict management and post-conflict rehabilitation.

The Press Unit (PU) of the OSCE Mission to Moldova requires services of a professional graphic designer/illustrator to support the activities of the Unit by producing graphic materials.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

The expert will be tasked to:

  1. Producing and updating graphic materials and templates for print and distribution, including but not limited to leaflets, infographics and outreach materials;
  2. Producing and updating graphic materials and templates for the Mission’s page on the official web site, social media channels and online campaigns;
  3. Providing recommendations on visualisation of the Mission’s information and content as well as diversification of the existing range of the Mission’s graphic materials;

Expected outcomes:

  1. Drafts of designs and materials are produced in a timely manner, before the deadlines decided upon by the PU;
  2. Edits to designs and materials requested by PU are implemented in a timely manner;

Designs and materials produced are consistent with the OSCE Visual Manual.

Necessary Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience and strong professional skills in graphic design, including proficiency in key software (incl. Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Publisher);
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in illustration, including proficiency in key software;
  • Previous experience in producing graphic materials and illustrations for non-profit organizations, projects and/or campaigns;
  • Previous experience should be proven by provided portfolio, including examples of leaflets, infographics, banners for social media and illustrations;
  • Working knowledge of English, excellent knowledge of Romanian and Russian;
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • Cultural sensitivity and judgment.

 

Remuneration:

Remuneration will be commensurate to educational background and years of relevant experience of the selected candidates, in line with the OSCE Staff Regulations and Staff Rules.
