Please note that this vacancy notice is not for a specific assignment but is aimed to identify individuals with deep knowledge of and experience in the field of good governance and anti-corruption and to update the OSCE roster of experts/consultants. Successful applicants will be included in the roster, with the possibility of being contacted in case of an assignment, for which they possess relevant qualifications. However, inclusion on the roster does not carry any commitment by the OSCE to use the services of the expert.

The OSCE has a comprehensive approach to security that encompasses politico-military, economic and environmental, human aspects. It therefore addresses a wide range of security-related concerns, including arms control, confidence- and security-building measures, human rights, national minorities, democratization, policing strategies, counter-terrorism and economic and environmental activities. All 57 participating States enjoy equal status, and decisions are taken by consensus on a politically, but not legally binding basis.
The OSCE Secretariat in Vienna assists the Chairmanship in its activities, and provides operational and administrative support to the field operations, and, as appropriate, to other institutions.
The main objective of the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities (OCEEA) is to strengthen security and stability in the OSCE region by promoting international co-operation on economic and environmental issues. Within the OCEEA, the Economic Governance Unit works to bolster economic co-operation and good governance throughout the OSCE region by promoting the principles of good governance and by supporting participating States in combating corruption, money laundering and terrorism financing. On an ad-hoc basis, the OCEEA and the OSCE field operations require the services of external experts and consultants to perform a variety of short-term tasks.
