Background
     
   

OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek (POiB) will assist the Department of Public Administration and Personnel Management of the Prime Minister’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic by recruiting a team of international and local consultants to conduct assessment and analysis of the current state of numerous single windows under the ministries and government agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic based in Bishkek. Therefore, two international consultants and five local consultants (a team leader of local consultants and four local consultants) will be recruited. Two interpreters will be hired to provide written and oral translations for the team of consultants from English to Russian and vice versa.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities
     
   

The translator will be expected to engage in the following activities:

  • High quality written translation of different documents and reports when requested by the international and local consultants as well as program staff of the POiB (English/ Russian and Russian/ English translations);
  • High quality editing and proofreading of above mentioned documents;
  • High quality oral translations (consecutive translations) when requested by the international and local consultants (English/ Russian and Russian/ English translations);
  • Work as official interpreter during conferences, workshops and meetings (consecutive translations);
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

Necessary Qualifications
     
   
  • University degree in social or political sciences, linguistics or other related areas;
  • At least 2 years of work experience as a translator (English/ Russian and Russian/ English);
  • Ability to translate voluminous and sophisticated documents from English into Russian and vice versa;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; 
  • Good communication skills;
  • Ability to work with word processing, email, and the Internet;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Russian;
  • Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds.

 

Remuneration Package
     
    Remuneration will be according to the OSCE consultancy fees rates and will depend on selected consultant’s qualification and experience.
