Background | ||
The OSCE Mission to Serbia requires the services of one local expert to prepare and draft a report on exercising the right to translation and interpretation for victims of crime during criminal proceedings. As envisaged by the project “Support for Victims and Witnesses of Crime in Serbia”, research needs to be conducted to evaluate to what degree the legislative framework of the Republic of Serbia allows for the usage, and whether translation and interpretation is provided to crime victims in practice and on a consistent basis during criminal proceedings. Development of Recommendations for better implementation of the rights related to the official use of minority languages by victims of crime during criminal proceedings will follow the analysis. |

Tasks and Responsibilities | ||
Under the supervision of the OSCE Mission to Serbia’s National Legal Officer, the consultant will be required to perform the following tasks:
To this end, the consultant will be expected to draft a written report on the exercising rights related to the official use of minority languages by victims of crime during criminal proceedings, in at least 20 but no more than 40 pages (in Serbian, font Times New Roman, size 12, single line spacing) addressing the issues outlined above. |

Remuneration Package | ||
The consultant will be employed for a period of 60 days over a 3-month period and will be remunerated a total amount not exceeding 4,000 EUR, commensurate to individual qualifications and experience, upon successful completion of the envisaged tasks. | ||
