Background    
     
   

The Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on the Conflict Dealt with by the OSCE Minsk Conference is looking for a qualified, motivated and experienced professional for the position of the Driver Baku in the Fund Administration Unit of the Office.

 

     
Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

Under close supervision of the Chief of Fund Administration, the incumbent performs the following duties:

  • Acts as a driver for the Office of the PR CiO Tbilisi, Baku Residence; drives OSCE vehicles to transport authorised personnel of the Mission and delegations;

 

  • Drives national and international staff members, as instructed by his supervisor, for implementation of different Office tasks; drives international staff members to the monitoring sites on the Line of Contact and the international border of Azerbaijan and Armenia;

 

  • Delivers and collects mail, documents and other items, meets official personnel at the airport; transports non-OSCE Mission members when instructed;

 

  • Ensures that all steps required by the OSCE Rules and Regulations are followed. In case of involvement in an accident, or in case that the vehicle breaks down, provides assistance to the passengers and for the recovery of the vehicle;

 

  • Signs responsible for proper vehicle documentation, including the monitoring of mileage, fuel spending and appropriate reporting to ensure the effective and efficient use of Mission cars; the incumbent logs official trips, daily km, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc., in a Vehicle Log Book provided by the Mission;

 

  • Refuels the Mission vehicles;

 

  • Keeps all Office vehicles in constant order and clean condition;

 

  • Remains at permanent disposition in case of emergency;

 

  • Checks all vehicles in the morning; signs responsible for the day to day, monthly and yearly maintenance of the vehicles, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.; performs minor repairs or initiates and arranges for major repairs as directed by the Chief of Fund Administration;

 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Driver's license B; knowledge of driving rules and regulations; skills in vehicle repair;

 

  • Good knowledge of Russian and Azerbaijani languages;

 

  • Previous work experience as a driver and a safe driving record; experience in driving for diplomatic missions and/or international organisations would be an asset;

 

  • Completed Secondary Education;

 

  • Flexibility and readiness to work overtime hours;

 

  • Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds;

 

  • Shows respect for and is experienced in applying confidentiality and discretion;

 

  • Familiarity with modern communication technology, including radios and satellite phones for  vehicles, is an asset;

 

  • Commitment to OSCE core values, in particular to the values of Integrity and Accountability. 

 

     
Remuneration Package    
     
    Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is 933 Euro/month (12 times a year). Social benefits will include OSCE participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale.
