The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe is involved in a wide range of activities, ranging from counter-terrorism and border management projects to supporting cross-border markets and free economic zones, human rights, media development, and legal reform initiatives.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The Driver will work under the Extra-Budgetary Project of “Stabilisation of Tajikistan’s southern border region with Afghanistan”. This is a general support role supervised by the Transport Assistant and if you are selected as the Driver, you will perform the following duties:
Transporting staff to the project’s training and construction sites using the project’s official vehicle;
Collecting and transporting project materials and goods between the POiD, project sites and vendors using the project’s official vehicle;
Responsible for day to day maintenance and cleanliness of the officials vehicles, e.g. fuel, water, fluids, tires, brakes, lights, etc.;
Keeping a log of the vehicle’s usage;
Ensuring that the steps required by the POiD’s rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident;
Performing any other tasks as assigned.
Please note that this is an extra-budgetary post and initial appointment will be for one year. Further extension of the post is subject to availability of Extra-Budgetary funds.
Secondary education supplemented by Class B, C and D driving license. Certified completion of an advanced driving course desirable;
A minimum of two years of professional driving experience using 4x4 vehicles with a clean driving licence (no endorsements) is essential;
Knowledge of driving rules and regulations of the country and basic vehicle repair skills is also essential;
Computer literate with practical experience with Microsoft applications;
Good communication skills in English, Russian and Tajik languages;
Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds;
Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is 445.83 EUR. Social benefits will include participation in the medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
