Background
     
   

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine is looking for a Ukrainian professional for the position of Cleaner with its field office in Mariupol. The OSCE is committed to achieving a better balance of women and men within the Organization.

Initial duration of assignment for this post is for a period of 12 months, with a possibility of extension, subject to a subsequent OSCE Permanent Council Decision to extend the mandate of the Mission.

     
Tasks and Responsibilities
     
   

Under the direct supervision the Administrative Officer and overall guidance of the Director, Administration and Finance/ General Services (GS)/Unit in HQ the Cleaner is responsible for:

  1. Cleaning offices, conference rooms, corridors, kitchens, toilets and storage area;
  2. Vacuuming, mopping and washing floors;
  3. Dusting furniture and office and IT equipment;
  4. Cleaning of kitchen areas, crockery, filling and emptying dishwashers and refilling kitchen supplies;
  5. Emptying waste bins, separating waste and correct disposal of trash;
  6. Assisting with the room preparation for meetings and providing glasses, crockery as well as hot and cold refreshments;
  7. Assisting with preparation for official functions and cleaning after events;
  8. Maintaining cleaning equipment in good order as well cleaning and replenishing coffee machines;
  9. Checking cleaning supplies and informing the supervisor when stocks are low;
  10. Performing other duties as required.
     
Necessary Qualifications
     
   
  • Ukrainian citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Ukraine;
  • Completed primary education or equivalent;
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a cleaner/maid, ability to operate simple machines and using cleaning products;
  • Professional fluency in Ukrainian and Russian languages, limited knowledge of English;
  • Ability to cope with physical hardship and willingness to work extra hours and in an environment with limited infrastructure, proven resilience to high stress environments;
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • Cultural sensitivity and judgment.

Remuneration Package
     
    Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 509.00 Euro/month. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna health insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale.
