Advanced education/certified training course in a relevant field desirable
Experience:
Minimum 6 years of relevant, diversified and progressively responsible professional experience including at least 3 years at the management level relevant to the actual position

Mission Specific Requirements |
Additionally, this particular post has specific requirements:
Mandatory:
- Second-level university degree in a relevant field, preferably in social science, international relations, political science, sociology or related fields;
- A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in producing, drafting, editing comprehensive analytical and thematic reports;
- Ability to rapidly analyse and integrate diverse information from varied sources;
- Ability to produce a variety of written communications products in a clear, concise style.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and diplomatic skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks within limited time frames;
- Experience in team management;
- Professional fluency in the English language;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
- Ability to operate windows applications, including word processing and e-mail.
Desirable:
- Experience in analysing reports and information from multiple sources;
- Experience in project management (planning, management, budget and evaluation);
- Previous international work experience and/or experience in field missions in South-Eastern Europe.
- Knowledge of the local language or most common lingua franca spoken in the mission area;

Tasks and Responsibilities |
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director and the overall supervision of the Director of the Democratization Department, the incumbent:
- Supervising professional and support staff within the Analysis and Reporting Cell;
- Acting as a clearing house and ensuring quality control for Democratization Department¿s reports, correspondence and taskings received within the Mission;
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive and accurate flow of reports, papers and circulars for internal and external information on all aspects for the Democratization Department;
- Ensuring the fulfilment of the reporting responsibilities for the Department Sections, including co-ordinating the production and dissemination of weekly and other regular reports according to a strict schedule;
- Co-operating with other relevant Sections and Units within the Mission to ensure a co-ordinated approach to taskings and clearance procedures for the Democratization Department;
- Drafting documents related to the tasks of the Democratization Department Analysis and Reporting Cell upon request by and in close consultation with the Director and Deputy Director of the Democratization Department;
- Drafting, finalizing, editing and co-ordinating analytical reports, thematic reports or presentations for senior management and compiling specialised information and analysis on topics related to the work of the Department¿s Sections and
- Supporting the Department in relation to requests from the Mission¿s Regional Centres requiring quality control and clearance from the Democratization Department;
- Engaging in other specific tasks at the discretion of the Director and Deputy Director of Department;
- Performing any other duties as assigned.
