Background    
     
   

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe is looking for a highly qualified, motivated and experienced professional for the position of Border Management Assistant under the Border Management Unit of the Political-Military Department.

     
Tasks and Responsibilities    
     
   

Under the supervision of the Border Management Officer, the Assistant perform the following duties:

  • Supports the National Border Management Officer in all phases of project management;
  • Timely processing on procurement issues;
  • Is responsible for effective information management within the border management team, including through keeping of records of meetings where necessary and drafting of monthly activity reports;
  • Organizes meetings and manages logistical arrangements;
  • Timely processing with travel arrangements for the border management team to participate in seminars and workshops;
  • Handles incoming correspondence and drafts responses as requested; keep the records;
  • Interprets and translates from and to Tajik, Russian and English;
  • Collection of data on border related activities and border situation within Tajikistan;
  • Performs other duties as required.
     
Necessary Qualifications    
     
   
  • Secondary education supplemented by formal studies in administrative, political science or police/security matters;
  • At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in project management, at least partially in an international environment;
  • Significant experience in and/or knowledge of security issues in Tajikistan;
  • Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages and OSCE computer systems (ORACLE, IRMA etc.);
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, in Russian and in Tajik languages;
  • Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.

Remuneration Package    
     
   

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is 751.50 EUR. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
