This position is open for secondment only and participating States are kindly reminded that all costs in relation to assignment at the Secretariat must be borne by their authorities. Candidates should, prior to applying, verify with their respective nominating authority to which extent financial remuneration and/or benefit packages will be offered. Seconded staff members in the OSCE Secretariat and Institutions are not entitled to a Board and Lodging Allowance payable by the Organization. The Transnational Threats Department (TNTD) plays a key role as the focal point of OSCE-wide programmatic activities aiming at countering transnational threats and ensuring co-ordination and coherence of action across all three OSCE dimensions among all executive structures, while respecting their mandates. As part of the TNTD, the Strategic Police Matters Unit (SPMU) was set up to assist the participating States upon their request to address threats posed by criminal activity and to support general police development and reform. The SPMU serves as the organization¿s main focal point for all OSCE police-related activities. |
| Tasks and Responsibilities |

Under the supervision of the Head of the SPMU, he/she will advise, propose, draft and implement projects with focus on organized crime, corruption, financial investigations and asset seizure. The incumbent will liaise with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and other international organizations, including Europol and Interpol, to discuss and share information about supporting in investigating and prosecuting organized crime cases. He/she will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of capacity building assistance and expertise in combating criminal threats and will represent the OSCE Secretariat at relevant meetings.
